When your bride comes to you wanting an outdoor wedding in the middle of October, on TOP of having it in Virginia Beach... you get a bit nervous. And when she also says she doesn't want a tent, you might freak out a bit (just a bit). Well, that's just what Ashley and Shane had planned for their big day! Based on the forecast for that weekend, things weren't looking good. But thank the almighty wedding gods because after canceling their tent, the sun started shining and we had what was probably one of the prettiest days all season!
Ashley's father had recently moved into a gorgeous house on the Inlet, so we had a great, natural backdrop for the ceremony and reception. Bluebird's garage provided an arbor for the ceremony, as well as a card box and other decor for the reception. We really love that most of Ashley's decor was DIY, including the table number holders... apples that had been spray painted gold in lieu of gold frames. It added the perfect touch of whimsy and charm and went perfectly with the floral arrangements from Trellis and Bloom (yes, the florist inside your local Farm Fresh!). We absolutely loved Ashley's color scheme (blush and gold) and the linens she chose to compliment it. Everything about the wedding really showed who she was and had a romantic flair that emphasized her and Shane's relationship. And working with Rebecca Keeling was such a pleasure; we have been so anxious to see these photos for months and let me tell you, we weren't let down! She captured everything beautifully.
From the spiked apple cider served in apples and topped with cinnamon sticks, to the gorgeous detailing on Ashley's gown, to the perfectly romantic lighting over the dance floor where Cheap Thrills rocked the night away, to the pink antique car that Ashley and Shane made their getaway in... we LOVED this wedding! And we couldn't be happier to have been a part of it!! Enjoy!!
